Nuggets strangely just gifted Mavericks the perfect Jason Kidd replacement

After months of turmoil inside the Dallas Mavericks organization, the Mavericks have still somehow found a way to make a Play-In Tournament appearance to potentially still make the playoffs. Of course, with the Oklahoma City Thunder standing next in their way without their veteran star in Kyrie Irving, it will be tough to get by.

After Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic tore the Mavericks apart by scoring 45 points in his old gym, Jason Kidd went on to say that being ampart of the history of trading away their generational superstar was "kind of cool." This shows exactly how bad this trade truly was and how Dallas might face repercussions of it for generations, just like the Boston Red Sox faced for trading Babe Ruth.

Either way, the local and national media weren't too kind to Kidd and sympathized with Doncic, and it might be one of the last straws to Kidd's tenure as a Maverick head coach.

Michael Malone would be a golden replacement if Kidd was fired

Since the recent and shocking firing of former Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone, it's opened up the door for the Mavericks organization to call Malone's name as a potential replacement for Kidd.

Malone now joins the laughable list of championship coaches who have been fired for not getting a longer tenure with the team he's won a championship with. Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel, and Mike Budenholzer have all been fired from the teams they've won a championship with.

The only catch would be is that Kidd is only the head coach. He was right whenever he said that he deals with the groceries that he gets, but after Nico Harrison's unfathomable move to trade away a superstar and creating more problems than solutions, that now puts Kidd in an extremely difficult spot.

With a generational talent that's been taken away, it might be best for the Mavs to reset and move with someone else at least moving forward. Again, this isn't Kidd's fault. He's not the one that made the joke to Rob Pelinka at a coffee shop to trade away their generational star, Kidd isn't the one that shipped away Doncic in the middle of the night for a bag of chips, Kidd isn't the one who's being booed every night when someone steps to the free throw line.

This is simply a proposal for a project to start over with the new look Mavericks. It's still painful to know that Doncic isn't a Maverick anymore, but now, it might be time to start thinking of a Maverick team without Kidd leading the charge.
