Now that we have explored the dream pick, the most likely pick, the sleeper pick, and the best fit for the Dallas Mavericks, it is time that we switch gears just a little bit. Who would be the worst player the Mavericks could draft tomorrow?

We continue to hear rumor after rumor speculating the Dallas Mavericks pick with the 9th overall selection. One day we hear how high Dallas is on Frank Ntilikina, another we find out how much the team would like to get a guy like Dennis Smith Jr., meanwhile everyone knows that a guy like Malik Monk would be a steal at the 9th overall selection.

In other words, the draft is confusing and full of empty promises and empty rumors.

With that said, there are usually more than a few players that are projected high who would be a bad choice to fit the Dallas Mavs system. There are plenty of good options, even some that might move up in the draft, but when people constantly talk up a player, some fans get confused.

Dallas at the 9th spot is open to a bunch of confusion. There will be 8 players taken in front of the Mavericks tomorrow and many people believe that there is a fairly significant drop off from 8 to 9. However, those same people often have different mock draft results than others saying the same thing and the confusion settles in once again.

The point of this post is to help identify some of the people that the Mavericks should really consider avoiding in the draft. This does not mean that the player is not going to do well in the league or even that they would necessarily do poorly with Dallas assuredly. But, it does mean that either the team doesn’t need their skill set or the fear of a bust is potential.

Anyways, here are the staff picks for the worst pick the Mavericks could make tomorrow.
