With the NBA regular season still being a month and a half away, Dallas Mavericks fans are as hyped as ever to see the new-look squad take the floor.

Everyone is envisioning how the new pieces will fit alongside the roster already spearheaded by Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and most of the excitement from fans is surrounding the Klay Thompson signing. Dallas signed Thompson early in free agency through a six-team sign-and-trade, and he is in the perfect position to thrive again.

Playing for the Mavs is going to be a huge difference from playing for the Golden State Warriors for Thompson, and this breath of fresh air is something that he needed. Thompson was disgruntled with the Warriors towards the end of his tenure, and a fresh start is something that he clearly needed.

Even though Thompson hasn't played a game yet for Dallas, he has already won over seemingly every Mavs fan. Thompson has spent time in Los Angeles with his new teammates, put on a show in pro runs, and even took a step back into Mavs history to prepare for the upcoming season.

Thompson is locked in on bringing Mavericks their second championship

Thompson posted a photo on his Instagram story late on Wednesday night of him watching a documentary on YouTube of the Mavs' run to the 2011 NBA Finals that was over an hour long, and he added an emoji of a pencil writing on paper.

Thompson sees how Dallas won the title in 2011, and this post was a message to Mavericks fans to show that he is ready to contribute in his own way and help Dallas win their second title ever and his fifth ring. Him staying up late watching this shows he is still a student of the game at 34 years old, but he is also going out of his way to learn more about Dallas' magical run to the Finals and how Dirk Nowitzki brought the city of Dallas its first NBA championship.

Thompson is definitely doing his homework ahead of training camp beginning in less than a month, and he seems locked in on helping Dallas return to the NBA Finals once again. Dallas fell short against the Boston Celtics in five games, but adding Thompson to this already-stacked roster gives them a much better shot at climbing the mountain once again, and taking home the title this time.

Thompson is winning over more and more Mavs fans as time goes on, and this move is looking like it could be exactly what Dallas needed. The Mavs needed more shooting badly, but he is going to provide much more than that.

Thompson can still hold his own on the defensive end and his off-ball gravity is going to help make the game much easier for Doncic and Irving. Defenders won't be able to help off of Thompson much on Doncic and Irving drives due to his ability to drill open shots with ease, and this new-look Mavs offense has the chance to be historical.

Thompson's shooting changes everything for Dallas, and him watching this video of the Mavs' run to the 2011 NBA Finals shows how excited he is for next season. He is locked in on winning his fifth ring, and Mavs fans should be ecstatic about what he can bring to the squad.

Thompson came to Dallas to have the best shot at winning another title, and his focus is on another level this summer.
