With the NBA offseason in full effect, fans have shifted their basketball focus to this year's Summer Olympic games.

The Dallas Mavericks have made a couple of moves around the edges such as signing Spencer Dinwiddie and signing Kessler Edwards to a two-way deal, but everyone's eyes have been on the basketball being played in Paris.

While teams have advanced to the tournament's knockout stages, NBA 2K released their annual video game trailer for NBA 2K25 featuring multiple Dallas Mavericks in the viral video.

Excitement for Doncic -Thompson duo increases with new NBA 2K25 trailer

While Mavericks stars Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic are no strangers to the 2k franchise as they were both cover athletes in years past, this year's trailer featured new addition Klay Thompson drilling a shot from behind the arc.

Thompson can be seen in the trailer at the minute mark of the video drilling a three off of a Doncic dime which will only get fans more hype for the duo's potential.

Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison heavily sought after Thompson this offseason after the team lost to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals due to their lack of shot-making ability outside of the team's two superstars. Thompson not only brings the team more shooting around the perimeter but the former Warrior also brings plenty of championship pedigree to a locker room that is rich in both veteran and young talent.

The Mavericks recently acquired Dinwiddie for the same reason they got Thompson; more shot creation.

It's no secret that Doncic and Thompson will likely be one of the league's best duos but seeing the two connect on a three in a video game trailer is as real as it gets. Thompson will likely get more shots and better looks with Doncic and Irving dishing the ball than he ever did in Golden State which is why he may once again become a star in the league.

Last season, Thompson shot a career-low 38.7 percent from behind the arc on nine attempts per game. Thompson will likely not only get more open looks but his 3-point percentage should skyrocket into the 40s as a Maverick.

This offseason, Jason Kidd will be tasked with creating the numerous actions that Doncic and Thompson will run together. In Golden State, Thompson became a prolific screen and popper alongside Steph Curry so this will only open up the potential of the Mavericks' offensive playbook.

With training camp just around the corner, fans are clamoring for more Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson content. For more updates on the Dallas Mavericks offseason, stay plugged in as we will have you covered.
