Trade rumors have been flowing about the Dallas Mavericks over the last few days, and it seems like a move could be on the horizon over the next few weeks.

The Mavs reportedly have received multiple offers for Dereck Lively II from around the league, but they have made him untouchable in all of these trade talks.

Dallas has also reportedly shown interest in forwards P.J. Washington and Andrew Wiggins, and there is one other player whom Dallas is interested in who may be the absolute perfect fit for this team.

Dallas Mavericks appear in trade rumors for former fan-favorite wing

Back in November, it was reported that the Mavs had shown interest in Dorian Finney-Smith. There had not been any other reports linking Dallas to Finney-Smith since, but Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported that the Mavs are still being linked to Finney-Smith.

This season for the Nets, Finney-Smith is averaging 9.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.7 steals per game while shooting 40.1 percent from 3-point range. This has been the best shooting season of Finney-Smith's career, and adding him to this Mavericks team would be massive.

We've already seen what Finney-Smith can do in the Mavericks' system on both ends of the floor, and he would immediately be Dallas' defensive stopper. A lineup that includes Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, Derrick Jones Jr., Finney-Smith, and Lively II would be fun to watch, and their defense would have the chance to be elite.

Doncic has made it clear that he wants to play with Finney-Smith again, and we reported here at The Smoking Cuban that Finney-Smith would like to eventually return to Dallas. This trade would likely thrill both parties, but the Nets' high asking price could cause the Mavs to lose out on landing him.

It's unclear how much interest the Mavs have shown in trading for Finney-Smith, but it's obvious that bringing him back to Dallas would be a move that makes this team better. He was phenomenal in his role in Dallas for six and a half seasons, and reuniting him with Doncic would excite most Mavs fans.

For all the latest on the Dallas Mavericks, Luka Doncic, and their rumored pursuit of Dorian Finney-Smith, stay tuned.
