6. Clinching Western Conference against Timberwolves in 2024

The Mavericks entered the 2024 NBA Playoffs as the Western Conference's fifth seed, but it didn't bother the team one bit. After knocking off the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder, the Mavs were matched up against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals.

Even without having home-court advantage in the series, the Mavs would win the first three games of the series. Game 2's win was highlighted by Luka Doncic's go-ahead three-pointer against Rudy Gobert. The Mavs failed to sweep the Timberwolves in Game 4 in Dallas, so the Timberwolves had a new sense of confidence heading to Minneapolis for Game 5.

Doncic and the Mavs had other ideas to have any plans of a Game 6. The Mavs defeated the Timberwolves 124-103 to clinch the Western Conference for the first time since 2011. One signature moment came from the win.

Doncic had his iconic trash talk of "who crying (expletive)" with Snoop Dogg sitting courtside. The Game 5 win was special as Doncic and Kyrie Irving led the Mavs to the Finals in their first full season together after some thought they couldn't work together.

The Mavs would lose the 2024 NBA Finals to the Boston Celtics, but Game 5's win in Minnesota will always be one of the best playoff wins in Mavericks history.
