2022 NBA Draft mock #30: Memphis Grizzlies (via Jazz): Mark Williams
Williams returns for his second season at Duke after averaging 7.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 15.2 minutes per game as a freshman. The seven-footer is a traditional center that profiles as a strong roll man, rim protector, and lob threat, but he needs to prove he can do it in a larger role for the Blue Devils this season.
The market for a traditional big man figures to be limited, but the 19-year-old has the upside to be a starter and impactful role player in the NBA. He may get played off the floor in the playoffs, but winning in the regular season matters too.
The Grizzlies traded Jonas Valanciunas for Steven Adams this offseason, but they could be searching for a long-term answer at the five. Mark Williams offers them a strong rim protector that should perform well in the pick and roll with Ja Morant.
