2022 NBA Draft mock #13: Indiana Pacers: J.D. Davison
Davison pops off the screen by throwing down monster dunks and making flashy passes. The 18-year-old is an explosive athlete with a quick first step to get downhill. He is one of the best point guards in this draft class and an exciting young prospect that will produce plenty of highlights this season.
The 6’3 guard is set to play for the University of Alabama where he projects to their starting point guard and star player. Davison needs to show improvement in his jumper and to prove he can defend at the point of attack to vault into the top ten. Alabama will provide Davison plenty of opportunities to shine, so do not be surprised to see the teenager climb draft boards.
Former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle is now with the Pacers, and fans know his penchant for not playing rookies. Indiana is likely to be back in the playoffs with the future Hall of Fame coach, but if they are picking in the late lottery, they are more likely to draft an older more NBA-ready prospect. J.D. Davison is more than worthy of going at this slot, and he has plenty of potential to jump into the top ten.
