Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving are still brothers despite being on different teams now, and Doncic recently gave Irving credit for one skill that will always amaze him.

Doncic appeared on "Hot Ones" on Thursday, and when asked about Irving and the craziest thing that he's ever seen him do with a basketball, he complimented his ball handling.

"The ball handling, you can't learn that," Doncic said. "He tried to teach me a little bit, but you can't do it. The things he do, you can't."

Doncic briefly dove into how Irving does crazy things during games that no other player can do, thanks to his incredible skill, but he would also consistently pull off wild moves out of his bag in practice that no one else can do. He also noted that any time someone thinks that they have stopped Irving, he still always finds a way to get to the rim.

Irving and Doncic's brotherhood for the roughly two seasons that they played together will always be cherished by Mavericks fans, and they truly shared a bond on and off the floor that will never be forgotten. Doncic and Irving silenced the doubters that claimed they couldn't play together after a disappointing end to the 2022-23 season by making the NBA Finals in the following season, and they will always be known as a top Mavericks duo of all time, even though they didn't get to play together as much as fans would've liked.

Despite the speculation from fans that Irving knew about the Doncic trade before it went down, it's clear that the two players still share a deep respect for one another, and Irving definitely didn't play a part in his close friend being traded.

After the trade, Irving was practically the team's spokesperson on the matter, constantly taking questions about the move despite not being involved in the decision, and this made Mavericks fans appreciate him even more. He didn't have to answer the tough questions that were being thrown his way, but he handled the situation like a professional.

He still seems to have a strong relationship with Doncic to this day, as they always embrace before playing against one another, and the brief success they had together will be etched into NBA history forever.

Just like Doncic said, Irving's handle and skill will always be two things about his game that we may never see again, and Doncic will always give credit where credit is due. Irving was easily the best teammate that Doncic ever played with during his career as a Maverick, and even though their two teams may be rivals now, as Doncic is a Laker, Doncic still shares a deep appreciation for Irving's game and all of the things that he does on the floor.

Irving is a one-of-one player, as he is in conversations of being the best ball handler of all time, and Mavericks fans will be on the edge of their seats in anticipation of his potential return to the hardwood from his ACL tear at some point this season.
