As the Dallas Mavericks have been eliminated from the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic is thriving as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. With Nico Harrison concerned about Luka Doncic's conditioning, it appears Doncic was never aware of that issue or doesn't agree with it to begin with, as Harrison and Doncic both have entirely different stories on Doncic signing a supermax contract.
Since the most infamous trade of the century thus far, the Lakers have gotten better, while the Mavericks have suffered injury after injury on their way to a play-in spot that was eventually exposed against the Memphis Grizzlies.
With Harrison becoming one of the most polarizing GMs in sports history, it appears Doncic has already moved on. With Doncic, LeBron James, and the Lakers in the three seed in the Western Conference, Doncic is having the last laugh. He's now a championship contender with the Lakers, while the Mavericks have now officially gone fishing for lottery luck.
Doncic uses Britney Spears highlight mix to show he's better than ever
In an interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews, Doncic revealed that he threw his phone in raging frustration to show that he did not expect to be traded right after he got the call that he'd be headed to Los Angeles. It's not abnormal to see players traded today, but Doncic being traded was one of the biggest surprises in NBA history. Of course, with Doncic being one of the greatest players on the planet, the fact that Austin Reaves is still on the same team as Doncic is despicable, knowing the amount of talent that Dallas could've gotten back from the Doncic trade.
Either way, the Lakers have only gotten better while the Mavs have gotten more injured. Now, with the Mavericks sitting on their couches watching the playoffs, Doncic posted a video on social media that will only hurt Mavs fans even more a few days ago.

Doncic posted the most underrated but perfect video to this point in his career. Britney Spears' "Stronger" playing in the background shows that Doncic went through a rough patch but is now in a peaceful place with the Lakers. "I'm stronger than yesterday," shows that Doncic was feeling emotion during his first game back in Dallas, but he's in a much better spot right now with the Lakers.
Even though Spears isn't thought of as someone who can get popular from a sports highlight remix, Doncic has already achieved over 100,000 likes for this post. It appears NBA fans everywhere relate to his situation, and it made everyone pause to realize that anyone could be moved at any point in time.
With James, Reaves, and his former teammates Dorian Finney-Smith and JJ Redick by his side, this was the perfect situation for Doncic to get comfortable with. With Harrison doubling down against Mavs fans and their reactions to the trade, it almost feels like it doesn't matter what any fan says at this point. Doncic is thriving with the Lakers, and it might be time for Harrison to take a look in the mirror as to where Doncic is compared to his own team.
