Jake Schroeder is a contributing writer for The Smoking Cuban. He’s been a sports fan all his life and a Mavericks fan since moving to Dallas in 2016. He began his career in sports media in 2023 as a photographer, capturing moments from the sidelines. He has since turned to writing as a way to further explore his love of sports and has brought the same storytelling approach he developed as a photographer to his coverage of the Mavericks. Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in Film and Digital Media from Baylor University and currently works as a freelance photographer covering Texas high school football for TXPS Media. Outside of covering the Mavericks, he enjoys watching and reviewing movies, wildlife photography, and is currently working on his first book.
