With a week past since the news came out about Seth Curry’s injury, the Mavs aren’t going to rush Curry back as he is out for another week.

On October 7th, the Dallas Mavericks sent out an official press release announcing that Seth Curry has a stress reaction in his left tibia. He was set with no timetable to return and would be re-evaluated weekly.

This obviously put a damper on the new starting lineup in Dallas.

With the news coming after their game in Orlando, Curry sat out the next two preseason games against Atlanta and Charlotte. Dallas elected to keep the same style in place with the starting unit by inserting Yogi Ferrell in Curry’s place.

Now, it’s a week later and time for Curry to be re-evaluated before the first week of the regular season.

The news wasn’t what fans were wanting.

When we talked to Curry last week, he told us media that there was no “exact timeframe” for his return and that he would not rush it back. Curry also said he felt the injury coming during training camp, but didn’t know something was wrong until something happened in practice.

More from The Smoking Cuban

Now, Curry finds himself missing the first entire week of the regular season.

This means Curry will miss at least, the home opener on the 18th against the Atlanta Hawks, their second game at home on the 20th against the Sacramento Kings and their Saturday matchup in Houston against the Rockets.

This puts Curry out for at least the first three games of the season. As for after that, the matchup against his brother in Dallas could be in jeopardy.

On Monday the 23rd, Dallas hosts Golden State at home. After that, they have a back-to-back with Memphis on the 25th and 26th followed by a home game on the 28th against the Sixers.

Basically, if Curry is deemed unable to go next week also at his evaluation, he will miss at least the first seven games of the season, including the one against his brother.

Let’s hope the injury only sidelines Curry for these first three games, but either way, Dallas must make do offensively until Curry returns.
