Luke Kennard

“This would be a disaster scenario for the Mavericks. The Mavs do not need a shooting swingman off the bench. Even though the team struggled severely to score this past year, Kennard proved he has no consistent ability to create his own shot in the modern NBA. Dallas needs to improve its offense by adding shot creators and shot producers, rather than simply adding three point shooters.” –Evan Siegel

Dennis Smith Jr.

“When I hear the word roundtable, it generally follows up with me throwing out a very unpopular opinion. So, to keep the streak alive, I am going to say Dennis Smith Jr. I know that won’t make sense for the most part but of all the guys in the projected top 10, Smith is the most likely to bust in my opinion. I just hope the Mavericks don’t pick him based solely on the need for a point guard when #9 rolls around.” –Kohl Rast

There are plenty of familiar names here both for good reasons and bad, but the fact is that Dallas has a chance to screw up this pick. Dallas’ scouting team is good and we shouldn’t expect to see any Greg Oden’s or Michael Olowokandi’s, but the fact remains that there are concerns. Stay tuned to see just exactly what the Mavs do, tomorrow.
