Dallas Mavericks fans went through a whirlwind of emotions over the weekend, as the team traded Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a first-round pick.

This was a move that came out of nowhere, as Nico Harrison and Rob Pelinka kept their negotiations as secret as possible, and Mavericks fans have been absolutely crushed over the last few days. Fans assumed that the initial report of the trade was fake, but it quickly became clear that it was 100 percent real. Dallas had just traded the franchise cornerstone to the Lakers where he will now team up with LeBron James, and there wasn't anything that anyone could do about it.

Mavericks fans who were still awake when the trade went down on Saturday night had trouble falling asleep, and those who woke up to the news on Sunday couldn't believe it. Mavericks fans were filled with sadness and anger due to this sudden move, and it sounds like Doncic feels the exact same way.

Despite not lashing out toward the Mavericks in his Lakers introductory press conference and taking the high road, Doncic was not happy with the move. He kept his answers about the Mavericks on the surface level during the press conference, but he did make some things clear.

Luka Doncic is furious at the Mavericks since they traded him

Doncic was shocked about the move and was about to go to sleep before he got the call that he was going to be traded to Los Angeles, and his feeling toward the Mavericks is exactly what you'd expect. He reportedly cried when the trade went down, and his anger towards the situation may stay with him for a long time.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Doncic is "seething" at the Mavericks. He has to be furious about the way the entire situation went down, and this report from Windhorst reflects just that.

Doncic expected to play his entire career with the Mavs, and he wanted to help bring the city of Dallas their first championship since 2011. Despite Harrison making it seem like there was uncertainty when it comes to Doncic signing a supermax extension this summer, he made it clear that wasn't the case.

Doncic planned on signing the extension, and it seems as if the Mavericks didn't feel great about paying him that rather than Doncic not feeling great about re-signing. His body language when asked about this told the entire story, and he may never forgive the Mavericks for how this situation played out.

They did everything behind his back, and despite leading the team to the NBA Finals last season and putting up one of the best statistical seasons this league has ever seen, the Mavericks traded him.

They believed that Davis would give them a better shot at winning a title, and time will tell if Harrison's gutsy bet will pay off. Betting against a 25-year-old superstar is a risky game, and Doncic will surely have both of the Lakers' games against Dallas (February 25 and April 9) circled on his calendar.

Doncic always shows up in big moments, and with the rage he feels toward the Mavs, he is going to be as motivated as ever that they should've never traded him.
