The Texas Legends officially released their schedule for the 2022-23 season. There are a lot of interesting teams the Legends play that fans probably haven't even heard of, and they are even taking a trip out of the country this season, which is a first in franchise history.

Here are some of the key dates on the schedule that fans should mark down on their calendars.

Friday, November 4th vs the Austin Spurs: Season opener

The Legends will kick off their 2022-23 season with a trip down to the HEB Center to take on the Austin Spurs on Nov. 4. The Spurs and the Legends were constantly in the playoff picture until the Spurs ran into a losing streak at the end of the season. It will be interesting to see how the two teams play against each other to open up the season.

Saturday, November 12th vs Birmingham Squadron: Home opener

The Legends will open up the home portion of the schedule against the Birmingham Squadron. This also might get a little chippy as the Legends got their first-ever playoff win in franchise history against the Squadron last season. Birmingham will be seeking some revenge, so things could get interesting for the home opener as well.

November 14th and 16th vs Mexico City Capitanes- Mexico City series

The Texas Legends will be taking their first-ever trip out of the United States for two games down in Mexico City. This was one of the G League franchises that the NBA announced a few years ago. Adam Silver wanted to expand the game of basketball outside of the United States and created the Capitanes. It will be interesting to see how the Legends perform against them in an unknown basketball environment.

November 24th and 25th vs Rio Grande Valley Vipers- The champs are here

The 2022 NBA G League Champions will be in town for a two-game series against the Texas Legends in late November. This will be their first matchup since the Vipers eliminated the Legends in the semifinals of the playoffs last season.

Fans know the Legends want some revenge on the Vipers for ruining their playoff run. This will be a good early test for the Legends as the Vipers are likely to be one of the best teams in the league next season.

January 28th and 29th vs Mexico City Capitanes- Mexico comes to Frisco

The Capitanes will return the favor to the Legends and travel at the end of January for a two-game series at the Comerica Center in Frisco. I would definitely get tickets for these two games cause I don't know when the Legends will be playing them again. They could possibly play the Capitanes next season, but I would get tickets while they are in Frisco.

Feburary 11th vs the G League Ignite-The bright young future of the NBA

Fans cannot miss this game because it could be their chance to see the number one overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Scoot Henderson leads the G League Ignite this season, and he is currently projected to go second overall behind Victory Wembanyama.

The Dallas Mavericks' 2022 draft pick Jaden Hardy was on the Ignite last season, and their roster figures to be stocked with potential first round picks.

Feburary 24th vs Wisconsin Herd-Fear the Deer

One of the Antetokounmpo brothers might be in town on February 24th if he is still on the Herd's roster. Alex Antetokounmpo, younger brother of NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, will be in town to take on the Legends that night.

I highly doubt the other three brothers will be in town to see him play, but this is another game to get tickets for because the Legends don't play them often.

March 8th and 9th vs the Chicago Windy City Bulls- Return of Carlik Jones

As I mentioned in my Texas Legends summer recap, Carlik Jones might not be returning to Frisco next season. As of now, he has signed a training camp contract with the Chicago Bulls. I don't know what the Bulls plan on doing if he doesn't make the main roster this season. He could end up being a Chicago Windy City Bull, or Dallas could resign him and bring him back to the Legends.

March 14th and 16th vs Delaware Blue Coats- The 2022 NBA G League Runner Ups

Near the end of the season, the Texas Legends will hit the road up north to take on the Delaware Blue Coats. The Blue Coats were the Eastern Conference champs last season and fell to the Vipers in the 2021-22 NBA G League Finals. They are another team that I think could have a strong roster to go up against, and this will be a good test before the playoffs if the Legends have clinched their spot.

The Texas Legends 2022-23 regular season schedule will provide many challenges. All they need is for you to pack the Comerica Center and cheer them on as they look to get back to the playoffs in 2023.
