The Dallas Mavericks continue to break barriers. Last season, the team had a successful season making it to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 2010-11 season. This was a huge accomplishment as the Mavs failed to make the postseason the year prior.

Dallas then added to their success by having one of their best offseasons. The team made the biggest moves in free agency by signing sharpshooter Klay Thompson. The move was well needed, as the Mavs struggled to provide offensive help for Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the Finals. Thompson is the perfect solution. He is one of the top 3-point shooters of all time and is ready for a fresh start.

The Mavs added other top names this summer including Quentin Grimes, Naji Marshall, and Spencer Dinwiddie. Dallas finalized their roster this week by re-signing vocal leader Markeiff Morris. The NBA veteran had expressed his desire to return to Dallas, and all signs pointed towards a reunion. It was just a matter of when.

HoopsHype ranking shows how stacked Mavericks are

Dallas' roster seems complete now. On paper, this is one of the most stacked teams in franchise history. The Mavs have three all-stars and a variety of role players who can step up at any moment. The team is set on both sides of the ball.

Recent rankings prove just how good the Mavs are. HoopsHype released their list of the top 100 players for the 2024-25 season. Five Dallas players made the list illustrating just how stacked the team is. Thompson started off the list, as he was the 100th-best player. Dereck Lively II was up slot ahead of Thompson at 99, while P.J. Washington led both players at 94.

Kyrie Irving was the next Mav on the list at 33. He was the spot behind Minnesota big man Rudy Gobert. This is definitely debatable as NBA fans have questioned Gobert's success.

Doncic rounded off the list of Mavs players, as he came in at the two spot. This is no debate, as Luka is one of the most skilled players the league has seen. He finished second in MVP voting last season and carried the team to their second Western Conference Finals appearance in three years. Doncic also scored the fourth-highest points in NBA history, when he dropped 73 points against the Atlanta Hawks.

Luka's success demonstrates just how good the Mavs are. The team has one of the top starting lineups with Doncic, Irving, and Thompson leading the way. Dallas also has an upcoming big man in Lively II who is a star in the making. This though does not include the Mavs' bench.

The team's mixture of experience and youth is what makes them special The group has various players Jaden Hardy, Daniel Gafford, Dinwiddie, and Marshall who can be instant contributors. This is simply one of the franchise's most stacked rosters.

However, the Mavericks' roster still has big shoes to fill if they want to be considered one of the best. You can't forget the 2011 group who won the Finals That roster included highly prolific players like Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, and Jason Terry.

This upcoming team has the potential to make another finals run. It's possible they could have success like the 2011 team. All that is missing is the trophy to back it up.
