1. Make more shots

With Boston being one of the better shooting teams in the league, Dallas must equal the shot-making on their offensive end.

It's been said many times. Kyrie Irving has to step up, and there's no question about it. He has struggled tremendously to start this series, and he has failed Luka Doncic when it comes to giving him some offensive support in this series.

However, it's the bench shooting that needs to contribute as well. Josh Green and Maxi Kleber went for a combined 0-5 from downtown in Game 2. The bench was a major problem for Dallas in Games 1 and 2 and must stay true to their shot-making that got them this far.

Tim Hardaway Jr. has been virtually unplayable in this series thus far, not even getting a touch of the court in Game 2. Most of the role players have gone ice-cold from downtown and the field in general, and this has to change for the Mavs to turn the tide of this series and have a shot at winning it.

On a positive note, Washington was the second highest scoring man for Dallas, finishing with 17 points. He'll need more good looks for the Mavericks to take Game 3.

"I think my turnovers and missed free throws cost us the game."

Doncic took responsibility for ball security and free throws at the podium after Game 2. Doncic made as many free throws as he did 3-pointers. He shot 4-of-8 from the line.

Doncic also dove into how the Mavs must shoot better and hit more shots. All three of the above reasons were detailed in the interview above by Doncic, and if the Mavs can clean these areas up, they have a much better shot at winning the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
