By Tyler Watts
The Dallas Mavericks had lost two straight games as they hosted the Philadelphia 76ers at the American Airlines Center, but Luka Doncic made sure it ended there. The 22-year-old superstar went off, including slamming down two monster dunks on Friday night to lift the Mavs to a 107-98 win.
It was a wild game that featured a 40-plus minute delay in the first quarter after the rim was bent. Things got stranger from there as Dallas came out of the break ice cold and fell behind by nine after the opening period. The Mavs stormed back in the third quarter on the strength of holding the Sixers to just 15 points before closing out the win with a strong defensive fourth.
Luka was the star of the show on Friday night as he finished with his eighth triple-double of the season. Number 77 had his tenth 30-point game and dunked twice after slamming down just one in his first 37 games of the year. Here is a closer look at Doncic’s spectacular performance.

Luka Doncic was locked in on Friday night as he finished with 33 points, 15 assists, 13 rebounds, and two steals. He shot 13 of 28 from the field, and the Mavericks outscored the Sixers by 19 in his 40 minutes on the floor on Feb. 4. Luka did not disappoint in his first game since being named an All-Star for the third consecutive year.
Doncic was aided by an incredible defensive performance from the Mavs on Friday night. They held the Sixers to just 35 second-half points after back-to-back 30-plus point quarters to start the game. Dallas locking in on that end of the floor was a massive reason why the Mavericks picked up the victory over the Sixers.
