Luka Doncic nets 8, Dirk Nowitzki honored at 2022 NBA All-Star game

The Dallas Mavericks had an All-Star for the fourth straight year as superstar Luka Doncic was part of Team LeBron. It was the third consecutive year for Luka with GOAT Dirk Nowitzki taking part in his 14th in 2019. 2022 was a special All-Star weekend as the NBA celebrated its 75th anniversary.

Luka was a starter in his first two All-Star games, but he came off the bench this year. It was the fifth straight win for Team LeBron as James sank the winner to keep Doncic undefeated in the All-Star game. It was a 163-160 final to cap the special night.

Doncic played 25 minutes in his third All-Star, but it started with two 3-pointers late in the first quarter to help Team LeBron take the opening stanza and earn some money for charity.

Luka had a breakaway layup in the third quarter to give him eight points for the third straight All-Star game. The 22-year-old also had three assists as he made three of his six field-goal attempts. All three were key in securing Team LeBron wins for the quarter and getting money for their charity.

Dirk Nowitzki joined the TNT broadcast in the second quarter and talked about his relationship with Luka, and many of the great moments in his NBA career. The Mavericks GOAT was also honored as one of the NBA’s 75 best players at halftime. Fans can see his name being announced below.

The 2022 NBA All-Star game was a night to remember. Stephen Curry score 50 points and sank an incredible and record-breaking 16 3-pointers to take home MVP honors, and LeBron James sank the game-winner. Luka Doncic was not the star of the show, but he did plenty of mingling with the league’s past and present elite. The 22-year-old also had the final words of the NBA 75 celebration.

Doncic and the Mavericks will be back in action on Feb. 25 as they face the Utah Jazz in a key battle in the Western Conference standings. Fans won’t want to miss it, so be sure to tune in and enjoy.
