Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was coming off a poor shooting performance in a loss, and Slovenia lost to Germany in World Cup qualifying just over one week ago. The 23-year-old wanted revenge, and he got it on Tuesday. Luka attack the basket and showcased his incredible finishing ability on his way to a 36-point double-double in the 88-80 win.
Germany was 3-0 entering Tuesday’s game, and now there is a three-way tie atop Group B with France and Slovenia all 3-1. Doncic and his country can secure the group with a victory over France on Wednesday in another important rematch for Doncic.

Doncic knew he had to step up his scoring for Slovenia to defeat Germany, so he came out attacking on Sept. 6. He had 17 first-half points, including going six of seven from the foul line. Luka relentlessly got into the paint and found a way to finish and draw fouls.
The 23-year-old did not stop there. He scored eight more in the third quarter, including a couple of incredible finishes that left him upset the referees did not give him a 3-point play opportunity. Doncic was locked in against Germany, and it showed.
Luka was not going to let Slovenia lose against the Germans. He went to another level in the fourth quarter to finish off the victory in Cologne. The Mavs star finished with 36 points, ten rebounds, five assists, and one key late block on Dennis Schroder that helped Slovenia pick up the win. Doncic was 14 of 25 from the field as he was truly unstoppable on Tuesday.
Luka Doncic and Slovenia have their fourth game in five nights as they face France on Wednesday with the winner of Group B on the line. If Slovenia wins, they take the group, but Germany secures it with a victory over Hungary and a France win over Luka and his country. France topped Slovenia in last year's Olympic semifinals, and fans know number 77 wants some revenge.
