Luka Doncic cannot find jumper as Slovenia falls to Bosnia in EuroBasket 2022
By Tyler Watts
Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic tried to will Slovenia to a win on Sunday, but Bosnia and Herzegovina were just too much as they picked up the 97-93 win. The 23-year-old could not find his jumper, but that did not stop him from putting on a show in Germany.
Goran Dragic was fantastic for Slovenia as he finished with 20 points, six assists, five rebounds, and four steals, but Bosnia and Herzegovina mucked up the game by changing their defenses and nailing key jumpers. John Roberson and Dzanan Musa scored 23 and 22 to finish off the upset.
Luka Doncic still put on a show, despite struggling with his jumper. Here is a closer look at his performance and what is next for the Slovenian National Team.

Slovenia got off to a bit of a slow start as Bosnia and Herzegovina scored the first eight points of the game, but Doncic was not bothered. He drove into the paint before throwing this unbelievable behind-the-head no-look pass for a wide-open 3-pointer. See the must-see Mike Tobey triple below.
It was not Luka’s best first half, but the 23-year-old made his best play after the whistle blew for a foul. He launched a floater from 3-point range that banked in off the backboard. See the wild make below.
Doncic struggled to find his jumper on the second night of a back-to-back, but he still had six points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the opening 20 minutes.
Luka never found his jumper, but he got inside for some easy buckets in the second half to finish with 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in 35.3 minutes on Sunday. He was eight of 18 from the field and missed all eight of his 3-point tries. Slovenia needed Doncic to knock down a few jumpers, and it never happened.
Luka Doncic and Slovenia are back in action on Sept. 6 at 1:20 p.m. CT against Germany. They will be looking for a bit of revenge after Germany dominated their World Cup Qualifier on Aug. 28. The Germans are 3-0, and Tuesday’s game could decide who wins Group B at EuroBasket 2022, so fans can expect number 77 to be locked in. Slovenia needs another win to secure their place in the knockout stage, so do not miss it.
