Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic went for a 36-point double-double in Tuesday’s win over Germany, and he topped it in Wednesday’s 88-82 victory over France as Slovenia locked up Group B in EuroBasket 2022. Doncic went for 47 as he completed his revenge tour. France topped Slovenia in the Olympic semifinals, and there was no way number 77 was losing to them again, especially with the group on the line.

Slovenia was without starting center Mike Tobey on Wednesday after he rolled his ankle against Germany. He is Luka’s primary pick and roll partner, but it did not impact the Mavericks superstar against France. Doncic got wherever he wanted in a historic performance.

Here is a closer look at Luka’s performance on Sept. 7 before diving into what is next for the Slovenian National Team as they advance to the knockout stage of EuroBasket 2022.

Doncic was unstoppable in the first half as he went for 27 points, four rebounds, and four assists. He only sat the final 38 seconds after taking an elbow to the head from French big man Vincent Poirier. Luka finally found his jumper on his way to five first-half 3-pointers, including an indescribable floater from beyond the arc. See his incredible highlights from the opening 20 minutes below.

The elbow forced Doncic to get a couple of stitches, but he returned for the second half and went right back to work. Number 77 had ten more points in the third quarter to break the Slovenian record for points in a EuroBasket game.

The French had no answer as Luka kept pouring it on in the final period to lift Slovenia to victory. France sent two and three players at Doncic in the final minutes to force him to give up the ball, but it was not enough to complete the comeback as Goran Dragic got two late steals to ice the game.

The 23-year-old superstar finished with 47 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 38.7 minutes of action. Luka was 15 of 23 from the field and 11 of 12 from the foul line in an incredible and historic performance.

It was the most points in EuroBasket since the 1950s as Doncic went for 47 of Slovenia's 88 points. Nobody could slow him down on Wednesday as he took his game to another level.

Luka Doncic and Slovenia advance to the knockout stage by winning Group B. They face Belgium, who finished fourth in Group A in the round of 16 on Sept. 10.

It was an incredible comeback from the defending champions after losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Doncic led the way, and he was unstoppable in the last two games. No country is looking forward to facing Slovenia in the knockout stage, and scarily enough, the best is still yet to come from Luka and his country.
