Mavericks land Bogdan Bogdanovic in mock draft day blockbuster with Hawks
In this mock blockbuster trade with the Atlanta Hawks, the Dallas Mavericks land one of the most underrated shooters in the NBA while shedding one of the worst contracts on their books.
This move would likely excite fans at the moment, but you may want to look closer before deciding who you think would win this trade.
In a move originally proposed by Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, the Mavs land Bogdan Bogdanovic to be their new sharpshooter while trading Tim Hardaway Jr., Olivier-Maxence Prosper, the No. 58 overall pick in this year's draft, and a lightly protected first-round pick to the Hawks.
Dallas finally can get rid of Hardaway Jr. following years of him being in trade rumors and are able to acquire a player who they have been linked to in the past. Hardaway Jr.'s days in Dallas have been numbered for a while now, especially after his father said he'd be traded this summer, and they no longer have to worry about his inconsistency if they pull off this deal.
Dallas makes a huge upgrade from Hardaway Jr. with the acquisition of Bogdanovic, and he'd be an excellent fit on the Mavs. Last season for the Hawks, Bogdanovic averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 37.4 percent from downtown. Dallas desperately needed a third scorer like Bogdanovic in the playoffs, but is he worth the steep asking price as shown in the trade?
Now we dive into grades for both teams involved and discuss if they should make this trade or not.
