It's been less than a week since the Dallas Mavericks lost in five games to the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA Finals, and there have already been tons of rumors and news flying about this team.

Dallas is reportedly expected to be interested in a move for Tobias Harris this summer, and there have also been rumblings that Dallas is interested in drafting Bronny James.

There has also already been a trade this offseason, as the Chicago Bulls traded Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey. Dallas has been a team that has made trades over the last few summers, and it doesn't look like this year will be any different after the father of one of the Mavs guards said he was going to be traded.

Tim Hardaway Jr.'s father says Mavericks will trade him this summer

Tim Hardaway Sr., the father of Tim Hardaway Jr. of the Mavs, posted a photo on Instagram to congratulate his son on a great season. One of the top comments on the post (which looks like it has been deleted) reads "they shipping him out after this season," talking about Hardaway Jr.

Hardaway Sr. then responded with "yes they are. And we want to have a new opportunity to shine. We didn't like what happen. We are ready to go."

Hardaway Sr. has always been one to roast the Mavericks and has even thrown Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving under the bus, but him going as far as to say that Hardaway Jr. is going to get traded this summer is wild. Hardaway Jr. obviously struggled for the Mavs this season, and his dad creating even more of a distraction was not the best idea on his part.

There's no way it's easy for Hardaway Jr. to play well when his father is talking badly about his teammates, and now his father is saying that the Mavs will trade him this summer. It was clear during the playoffs that Hardaway Jr.'s time in Dallas looked like it was coming to an end, and his father coming out publicly and saying this makes it look like even more of a possibility.

Hardaway Jr. was in trade rumors last summer as well, and he is someone to watch for when and if the Mavs make a trade this summer. This was a major shock that Hardaway Sr. openly said this, and only time will tell if the Mavs decide to trade him this summer.

For all the latest on the Dallas Mavericks and Tim Hardaway Jr. this offseason, stay tuned.
