Trade Dallas Mavericks should already be considering: 3. Get HB back from the Kings

The Kings do not look like they will snap the longest playoff drought in professional sports as they are off to just a 3-5 start. As they slip from contention, former Maverick Harrison Barnes will likely hit the trade blocks as Sacramento attempts to open up more minutes for rookie Keegan Murray.

Would Dallas consider giving up a first-round pick to secure two upgrades?

Mavs fans know what Barnes can do, and he would be in a better situation this time around as Luka Doncic is the team's unquestioned number-one scorer. Barnes and Doncic were teammates early in the 23-year-old superstar’s rookie season. The versatility, scoring, and floor spacing that HB provides would be massive for the Mavericks. Barnes is 6’8 and can guard nearly any player on the court.

Holmes was the Kings' starting center until they traded for Domantas Sabonis, but he is averaging just 13.7 minutes per game this season. Sacramento has a crowded frontcourt, but the 6’10 big man could provide the rebounding, rim protection, and lob threat the Mavericks are searching for to play off of Luka Doncic.

Giving up a first-round pick is significant, but the Dallas Mavericks could be interested if Sacramento is willing to take back Tim Hardaway Jr. or Davis Bertans in the deal.
