The 2023 offseason for the Dallas Mavericks has been an overall gleaming success. Bringing back Kyrie Irving and trading for former Boston Celtic Grant Williams have been the highlight additions of this year's offseason moves.

Some of the other acquisitions the Mavericks have made are getting center Dereck Lively II, former Sacramento center Richaun Holmes, and forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper, who have helped retool an otherwise depleted roster.

Getting Dereck Jones Jr. and Dante Exum will also help bolster this year's likely bench unit. Not to mention, the addition of former Maverick Seth Curry will be sure to light up the scoreboard alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

This upcoming season will be sure to be an improvement over last year's disappointing season, but there are still some massive holes to fill around the roster.

It would be an understatement for most Mavs fans when you say the Mavericks need a starting center. The addition of Dereck Lively II will surely be one of the biggest storylines heading into the season, but development will be needed before Lively II can start every night.

Re-signing Dwight Powell was a great move, especially at the pay cut that Powell took to stay in Dallas, but it's been clear for many years that Powell is not a starting-caliber center.

The addition of Richaun Holmes will be interesting to watch as well because injuries have historically held him back from becoming a potential starting-caliber center.

Comprehensive to how good the 2023 offseason has been for the Dallas Mavericks there are still prominent gaps within this roster. Here are ten dream trade targets the Mavericks could make to mend the holes on this team.

10. Clint Capela

Clint Capela is no stranger to the occasional trade rumor surrounding his name. For the last few seasons in Atlanta, Capela's name has been tossed around in almost every trade that would acquire a legit star to pair next to Trey Young.

In regards to the Dallas Mavericks, the addition of a starting center via trade has been one of the most important rumors for the last few seasons since Kristaps Porzingis' departure. Capela would answer every question the Mavericks have regarding a center.

Capela would instantly become the starting center, and alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, we could potentially see the best version of his game. However, getting Capela has been the biggest question.

The Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks have been in talks before about a potential Capela trade package. Before the 2023 NBA Draft, there were multiple reports about how Dallas wanted to acquire Capela. These talks dissolved, but the Mavericks are staying very persistent about a potential trade.

Acquiring someone of Capela's expertise would be an instant boost to the Mavericks' frontcourt, but he potentially isn't the only answer to the Mavericks' lack of a solid center rotation.
