Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks Game 4 playoff win over Suns: 3. Team effort

The Mavericks needed contributions from everyone to win Game 3, and they used the same formula to grab a victory on Sunday afternoon. They had six players score in double figures and everyone did their part. Luka Doncic led the team with 26 points, but it was the supporting cast that sealed the victory.

Dorian Finney-Smith made eight 3-pointers, and Jalen Brunson had 18 points and four assists in Game 4. It was not JB’s most efficient game, but Dallas needed his points to secure the win.

Davis Bertans hit four 3-pointers off the bench on Sunday afternoon to finish with 12 points in 13 minutes of action. The Mavericks' 11-point edge from beyond the arc was key, and getting productive minutes from the 6’10 forward was a welcomed surprise.

Maxi Kleber had 11 points, seven rebounds, and one block in 34 minutes of action in Game 4. He again played an important role on both ends of the floor as Dallas grabbed the ten-point victory. The Mavs need him protecting the rim, switching, and making 3-pointers if they want to reach the Western Conference Finals for the fifth time in franchise history.

The Dallas Mavericks were the more physical and energetic team on May 8. They needed every player in the rotation to produce to grab the win, and it happened at the American Airlines Center.
