Rumors: Dallas Mavericks' trade pursuit of Wizards star gets intriguing update
By Noah Weber
The NBA trade deadline is quickly approaching, and moves around the NBA have been relatively quiet ever since the Pascal Siakam trade.
There have been a couple of smaller moves across the league, but all of the blockbusters that looked like they were going to happen haven't happened.
The Dallas Mavericks are a team that has been in plenty of trade rumors, and one player whom they've been heavily linked to this season is Kyle Kuzma. The Mavs remain interested in upgrading at the power forward position, and Kuzma is someone who they seem quite intrigued with.

His asking price from the Washington Wizards also looks like it could be on the way down, and this makes the Mavs' avenue to trade for him much easier. Dallas only has one first-round pick to trade, and a recent rumor surrounding Kuzma and Dallas makes his case to potentially become a Maverick even stronger.
According to Kevin Gray of 97.1 The Freak, a source from within the organization that he spoke with "believes they have the leadership & hierarchy in Dallas to absorb Kuzma as a player & personality as Kuzma, as it was put to me, seems to be a big fan of Jason Kidd who was a Lakers assistant when Kuzma won the NBA title in LA."
This is a massive tidbit of intel considering how important chemistry and culture are for the Mavs, and if they believe they can handle Kuzma on and off the floor, a move could be probable. Kuzma is the exact type of player that Mark Cuban wants at the power forward spot, and his offensive prowess combined with his size would make him a great fit next to Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.
Dallas' offense would be even better, especially with another player who can create his own shot in Kuzma, and the Mavs would be extremely tough to stop.
For all the latest news and rumors on the Dallas Mavericks and their potential pursuit of Washington Wizards star forward Kyle Kuzma, stay tuned.
