Rose’s playing time has decreased this season after they signed Jalen Brunson away from the Mavericks, so would New York be willing to dump D-Rose for a second-round pick before looking to improve their roster elsewhere?

The Mavs are unlikely to trade a first-round pick. They still owe their 2023 first-rounder to the Knicks from the original Kristaps Porzingis trade with a top-ten protection. Dallas expects it to convey in the summer, and they will have a full stockpile of first-rounders to deal after draft night. That should allow Dallas to chase any star player that becomes available.
