Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic forced Jalen Brunson to wear a Cowboys jersey to a game in 2020 as punishment for a bet. Brunson is a diehard Eagles fan, so he was not happy to rocking the jersey, and Doncic had it custom-made to feature “Luka’s Son” on the back. JB got a bit of revenge on Dec. 3.

Brunson has since joined the Knicks, but the bets between the two continued. This time Doncic arrived at Madison Square Garden rocking an Eagles jersey with “JB Son” on the back. Number 77 requested that no photos be taken.

Saturday was the first of two meetings against Jalen Brunson and the Knicks this season. Doncic also missed his half-court shot at the close of warmups and had to do pushups on the court.

More Mavericks news

The biggest news was an interview Mavericks GM Nico Harrison gave on 96.7 FM The Ticket in Dallas where he talked about Kemba Walker’s knees. He said this during the hit about the six-foot point guard.

"It’s not good at all, but he’s rehabbed it and it’s the best he’s felt in the last two years so, we’ll see how long that lasts."

Harrison continued to say that it doesn’t mean Walker cannot play on it, but there is clearly some long-term damage there. It will be interesting to see how Kemba performs in Dallas.

Christian Wood was also ruled out of Saturday’s game with an illness. Kidd noted pregame that JaVale McGee and Jaden Hardy would join the rotation with C-Wood sidelined.

NBA news

LeBron James led the NBA headlines on Saturday morning after he moved in to sixth all-time in assists passing Magic Johnson in the Lakers' upset win over the Bucks on Friday night. Khris Middleton also played his first game for the Bucks this season in the contest.

There will be plenty of news on Saturday’s game as the Dallas Mavericks face Jalen Brunson for the first time, so be sure to check back for that.
