Report: Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd is 'hopeful' he lands contract extension

Whether it be changing the starting lineup or drawing up a phenomenal final play that helped Irving hit a phenomenal game-winner against the Denver Nuggets, Kidd deserves some credit for Dallas' improvements.

And it sounds like he wants to remain with the Mavericks for the extended future.

According to a report from The Athletic's Sam Amick (subscription required), Kidd is "hopeful" that he can land an extension from the Mavericks this summer. Kidd is under contract until the end of next season, and if he can land an extension, he'd remain in Dallas for much longer.

Kidd is someone who Irving and Doncic seem to love to play for, and extending him may be in their best interest if this current trend of winning continues. Having a good leader at the head of your team is important, and so is continuity.
