On Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks absolutely dominated the Sacramento Kings on the road to improve to 43-29 on the year. This was Dallas' fifth win in a row, and they are showing that they are elite contenders.

Luka Doncic was questionable to play in this game with Achilles soreness, but he ended up playing and put on a show. Doncic finished with 28 points while sitting in the fourth quarter, but the play of everyone else around him was also excellent.

After starting slow in the first half, Kyrie Irving exploded in the second half as he finished with 24 points and eight assists. Irving took over the game in the fourth quarter, and Doncic and Irving are thriving as a duo.

Luka Doncic's selfless analogy illustrates why the Mavericks are true contenders

The duo of Irving and Doncic has received plenty of doubt from the media, but due to both players' maturity and desire to win, they have found a way to turn into one of the best duos in the NBA.

After the win against the Kings, Doncic was asked about the duo of him and Irving, and his selfless statement about it shows why they work so well together.

Luka said that Kyrie is Batman while he is Robin. No other superstar in the league would give this type of credit to their co-star so selflessly, and this is why this pairing could take this team to new heights.

In the past, we've seen the duo of Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis not work out. A big reason for that duo not reaching their expectations was maturity and pride.

Both Doncic and Irving have swallowed their pride completely, and genuinely like being with each other on and off the floor. That can't be said about all star duos, but Doncic and Irving are showing everyone that the Mavericks should be a team that no one wants to play.

Dallas' next game is tomorrow night against the Kings.

For all the latest on Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks this season, stay tuned.
