7-6: Dante Exum, Jaden Hardy

7. Dante Exum

Dante Exum is looking to revitalize his career in Dallas, and he may be able to do so after coming off of strong two years of international play. But despite his leash likely being shorter compared to most others on the team, Exum just signed with the team this offseason. The Mavericks would have to have an obscure trade come to fruition for him to be gone before training camp even starts.

6. Jaden Hardy

Jaden Hardy is poised to improve upon a strong rookie campaign after looking shaky this past July in Summer League play. Hardy was shut down for the Mavericks' remaining two Summer League games due to a shoulder contusion after shooting relatively poorly from beyond the arc in the first three games in Vegas.

However, Jaden Hardy's rookie year cleared expectations that most people had fairly easily. Especially, given he fell all the way to pick 37 in the 2022 NBA Draft. Because of this, Hardy catapulted himself into one of the Mavericks' hotter commodities and opposing teams will certainly try and at least ask about Hardy or Josh Green if the Mavericks are still trying to make a play for a rim protector this offseason. The Mavericks would only trade Hardy if it was for an extremely good cause, but you never know what could happen between now and training camp.
