Coincidentally, the Dallas Mavericks superstar player recently announced some news on the date 7/7. Luka Doncic proposed to his girlfriend, and she said yes, which means Doncic will soon be Mr. Doncic.

Luka posted the proposal on Instagram in his home country of Slovenia. MFFL nation couldn't be happier for Doncic. But, when people get engaged or married, things of that sort, their closest friends get them gifts, right?

Well, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was asked about what he will get Doncic as an engagement present, and his answer is something that every Mavericks fan wants, not only for Doncic but for themselves as well.

"You know what, I have talked to my wife about that; I don't know yet," Cuban said during Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, via The Score.

With no real answer given, Cuban was then asked, if he had to get him one thing, what would it be? He responded with two words:

"A championship."

Most would agree that Luka Doncic is probably the most talented Mavericks player ever. The answer is either him or Dirk Nowitzki, his 7-foot counterpart, but even Dirk wasn't doing some of the things Doncic is.

There is one thing that Nowitzki has that Doncic doesn't: A championship ring. Nowitzki has been to the NBA Finals one other time as well, while Doncic has never made it that deep into the postseason.

If Cuban is going to get Doncic a championship, he must hurry on that promise. Doncic has a player option on his contract for 2026 and is set to become an unrestricted free agent by 2027, per Spotrac. If the Mavericks haven't done anything by then, Doncic could want a change of scenery.

Of course, there is also the possibility that Doncic would re-sign anyway. The Mavericks have pieces to contend, but they still aren't quite there yet. They have run into some top-notch teams in their quest to make it to the NBA Finals over the past few seasons.

If Cuban is going to deliver, he has a few more moves to make with this team, but it would certainly be quite the wedding gift if he's able to help make it happen.
