Mavericks guard Luka Doncic goes viral for act of kindness at FIBA World Cup
By Noah Weber
Most of the buzz surrounding Dallas Mavericks and Slovenia superstar guard Luka Doncic coming from the FIBA World Cup has to do with his constant complaining.
Doncic got ejected in Slovenia's loss to Canada due to getting two technicals for complaining to the referees. This is a problem that has followed Doncic throughout his NBA career, as he has been on the verge of suspension two different times, and still, nothing has changed.
Even though it seemed as if Canada was getting more calls than Slovenia, Doncic has to do better about not worrying too much about the officials.

But here's something that the national media won't want to show you about Doncic.
After Doncic and Slovenia beat Italy in their final FIBA World Cup game, he spotted some fans in the crowd and decided to make their day. This couple was holding a sign that said, "Luka I was named after you," and Doncic noticed the young couple and their son.
Doncic then took his TCL Player of the Game trophy, handed it to someone nearby who appeared to work for Slovenia or the FIBA World Cup, and told them to go give it to the young family.
This was an awesome gesture by Doncic, as he could have easily ignored them, but he went out of his way to make sure that they got a piece of history.
But it doesn't stop there.
On Doncic's way off the court, he tossed his shoes into the crowd of fans. This gesture isn't rare, but it's still nice to see Doncic showing the fans some love.
There have also been clips showing Doncic signing autographs for fans.
This is the last thing that people will talk about when it comes to Doncic's FIBA World Cup run for Slovenia, and this should make Mavericks fans feel good as their superstar player is making sure that he interacts with fans.
Mavericks fans' next chance to watch Doncic will be on October 5 in their first preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Dallas' first regular season game is on October 25 against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
This season is pivotal for Doncic and the Mavs, as they will try to return to the playoffs after a disappointing end to last season.
