Most teams are at the slowest part of their offseason right now.

They're mostly done with free-agent signings, and everyone is waiting on the schedule release that is expected to happen next week.

But fans of two of the three Texas teams got a preview into who their favorite teams will be playing for their first games.

Mavericks rumors: Reported opening game to be ratings bonanza

According to Marc Stein, the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks are set to square off on October 25 in San Antonio. This will be Victor Wembanyama's first game in the NBA, and it looks as if it'll be a crazy night as he'll square off against Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Mavs.

Wembanyama is one of the most hyped prospects of all time, and playing against the home-state rival Dallas Mavericks will put out amazing TV ratings. Everyone wants to watch Wembanyama play, and having Doncic and Irving's first game against him makes it even more of a must-watch game.

In the NBA Summer League, Wembanyama averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 4.0 blocks per game. He had a rough start, but his second outing was a glimpse into the type of player that he can be at the NBA level. Wembanyama has a chance to be an all-time great, and his first regular season action will be against Doncic and the Mavs.

Doncic and Irving have plenty to prove, as they missed the playoffs last season. Mark Cuban and company have done their best to build around their two star guards, with the most recent signing being Derrick Jones Jr.

Dallas got younger and more athletic this summer, and this matchup between Victor Wembanyama and Luka Doncic will be extremely hyped since Wembanyama is making his debut.

Every NBA fan will have their eyes glued to their TV that night as they get to witness history. Doncic, Irving, and the Mavs will look to start on a good note after a disappointing end to their season, while Wembanyama will look to show the world why he was worth all the hype.

Dallas' rookies Olivier-Maxence Prosper and Dereck Lively II are also set to make their debuts in this game, and both players look as if they'll be key pieces in the Mavericks' future plans.

We'll have you covered with all the latest news surrounding Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks this summer, so stay tuned.
