With less than eight hours before the 2024 NBA Finals tip-off, every basketball fan is gearing up for what will presumably be an all-time great Finals matchup. Considering the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks have a lot of history together it's no wonder fans expect a hostile crowd come Game 1. Former Celtic Kyrie Irving knows this all too well considering he is now enemy number one in Boston.

Despite an expected hostile crowd in Game 1, Mavericks players and fans seem extra confident about their upcoming series against Boston. Starter Derrick Jones Jr. went on to state that there isn't a team in the NBA that can beat the Mavericks in a seven-game series.

With Dallas playing their best basketball of the season it's no wonder Jones Jr. and fans feel so assured before a seven-game battle with the Celtics.

Luka Doncic shuts down supposed 'beef' with Kristaps Porzingis

With plenty of storylines heading into Game 1 of the NBA Finals, one reported feud between former teammates was quickly shot down yesterday morning. After reports of a Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis "beef" remaining after the two split in the middle of the 2021-22 NBA season, Doncic was quick to shoot down these false claims and even say he and Porzingis have a good relationship.

Porzingis was brought into Dallas during Doncic's rookie season in an attempt to pair the young rising star with a European duo that would last for many years. Unfortunately for Dallas, this attempt would backfire horribly and Porzingis would be shipped out during the 2022 trade deadline.

Obviously, Doncic and Porzingis' partnership in Dallas ended sourly, which is why it would be safe to assume the two might hold a grudge against one another. However, the two never showed any signs of disliking each other when on the floor together.

This isn't the first time that Porzingis or Doncic was asked about their relationship after the trade. Earlier this season, Porzingis answered why his time in Dallas ended so badly and it simply had to do with maturity being that he and Doncic were both young at the time of being teammates.

Since being traded away from Dallas, Porzingis has been on two teams, the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics. This will be both Doncic and Porzingis' first time competing for a championship on the biggest stage, so all eyes will be on the two European stars to see how they embrace each other before tip-off.
