While NBA Summer League is going on, Dallas Mavericks fans are seemingly looking ahead to October to the start of the regular season. This offseason will likely be pivotal in the Mavs taking the next step and being among title contenders once again, and a big reason for that is the productive offseason they've had so far.

Dallas kicked things off by trading for Quentin Grimes, who is expected to be a defensive menace for the Mavs next season, but their biggest move was a sign-and-trade for Klay Thompson.

The Mavs found the third scorer they desperately needed during the NBA Playoffs, and Thompson can't wait to get to work.

Jordan Walker defends Klay Thompson following allegations of him being 'washed'

With this move for Thompson, the Mavs addressed their need for more shooting while also adding a great shooter who is pumped up to be a Maverick. While most of the feedback from Mavs fans has been positive regarding the team's move for Thompson, some doubters are definitely starting to emerge.

Over the weekend, a video of Thompson playing pickup basketball dropped, and some people decided to put together some of his lowlights and post them online. Fans were quick to talk about how Thompson didn't play great, and those doubters will be eating their words soon.

Thompson is one of the greatest shooters of all time, and one pickup game means nothing.

One former Maverick who saw these comments about Thompson and came to his defense was Jordan "Jelly" Walker. Walker was on the Mavericks during last Summer League and preseason, and he wasn't letting these allegations about him being washed up go any further.

Walker was talking about how the defender in the video was fouling Thompson for the majority of the time, and he's right. Specifically, Walker noted how the defender had both of his hands on Thompson when he was dribbling up the floor, and obviously, that's a foul.

There is no reason to worry if you're a Mavs fan when it comes to Thompson's play in these runs, and he is going to be just fine. Playing next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving is going to bring the best out of him, and it has already been confirmed the starting small forward.

Thompson's shooting will take the Mavs to the next level next season, and his impact on and off the floor is going to be huge. Michael Finley complimented all of the team's new additions' character during their introductory press conference, and Thompson has already become a fan favorite.

For all the latest on Klay Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks this offseason, stay tuned.
