The Dallas Mavericks improved to 5-1 on Sunday night after a narrow win over the Charlotte Hornets.

Dallas battled back from behind in this game and continued to show that they are a completely new team in the clutch this season.

Last season, Dallas struggled tremendously at the end of games.

This season, they are stepping their game up in the clutch and winning games that they likely would have lost last season.

Dallas' clutch performance was surged by Grant Williams, Luka Doncic, and Jaden Hardy, and they each made plays down the stretch that ultimately helped Dallas win the game.

Williams knocked down three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and played all-around sound defense to help slow down the Hornets. He is now shooting 56.1 percent from downtown, but according to Williams, that isn't good enough.

"I crush myself sometimes because 50 percent [from 3-point range] still isn’t good enough for me," Williams said. "I have to be able to step up even more."

Along with saying this, Williams also threw a hilarious jab at a former Maverick during the press conference. Williams came into the presser wearing a Philadelphia Eagles jersey, and when told that reporters went through the same thing with Jalen Brunson (because he's an Eagles fan), this is what Williams had to say.

"Oh trust me, me and JB [Jalen Brunson] have a lot alike," Williams said regarding their Eagles fandom. "I'm like 20 inches taller."

This was a funny moment with Williams and the reporters, and seemingly everyone in the room chuckled after he made fun of Brunson's height.

Brunson played for the Mavs from 2018 until 2022 and was a fan favorite for his entire tenure. He was a key piece to Dallas' run to the Western Conference Finals in the 2022 Playoffs, and his departure to the New York Knicks was something that saddened Mavs fans.

Fans' next chance to see Williams and the Mavericks in action is tonight against the Orlando Magic.
