The Dallas Mavericks' biggest move of the offseason came in early July as they acquired Grant Williams as part of a three-team trade with the San Antonio Spurs and Boston Celtics.

Dallas gave up Reggie Bullock and a 2030 first-round pick swap as part of this deal, but they landed someone who has made a massive impact in six games played for Dallas.

Williams is averaging 15.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.7 blocks per game.

Williams' scoring average is impressive, but his most impressive stat of the season is his 3-point shooting percentage. He is shooting 56.1 percent from downtown, and it seems that every time he shoots, it goes in.

Despite this being an elite shooting percentage, Williams isn't satisfied.

"I crush myself sometimes because 50 percent (from 3-point range) still isn’t good enough for me," Williams said after Dallas' win over the Charlotte Hornets. "I have to be able to step up even more."

This is a massive goal from Williams, as shooting over 50 percent from three for an entire season is an achievement that doesn't happen. Luke Kennard led the NBA in 3-point percentage last season with 49.4 percent from three, and if Williams can shoot above 50 percent from three for the season, it would be one of the greatest shooting seasons of all time.

Only eight players have ever shot above 50 percent from 3-point range in a season, and Kyle Korver holds the record with a 53.6 percent shooting clip from downtown during the 2009-10 season.

Williams also talked about how great of a job Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving do at creating for him and said he has "been very, very open on this team."

Doncic and Irving do a great job of drawing the defense in and finding Williams open on the perimeter. Many of Williams' looks have been open, but he has also done a good job of utilizing the pump fake and getting defenders to fly by him before letting his shot fly.

If Williams can continue to hit open shots while playing lockdown defense on the other end, the Mavericks will have the chance to make a deep playoff run.

Dallas' next game is tonight (November 6) against the Orlando Magic.
