The Dallas Mavericks have done an outstanding job remaking their roster around Luka Doncic this summer. They re-signed Kyrie Irving and added multiple role players to better fit around their star duo. Dallas is still looking to make moves, but they have more talent and a more cohesive unit already.

The Mavs brought back Irving and Dwight Powell along with signing Seth Curry for his third stint with the team, but other former players have not been as lucky. Dallas improved their depth and remade their bench, but that meant letting multiple players go.

Not all of them had found new homes for next season. That does not just include talent from last year's roster. Multiple former Mavericks are still searching, and here are three surprising names as the calendar inches toward August.

3. Frank Ntilikina

The Ntilikina experiment never worked out in Dallas, but the 6’4 guard is only 24 years old and a key contributor for the French National Team. He has still not reached his prime and is an impactful defender. Ntilikina’s jumper and overall offensive game are a work in progress, but there is plenty to like defensively.

Mavericks fans might be questioning why he makes this list after averaging 2.9 points and 1.2 assists in 12.9 minutes per game last season, but there are other leagues. Frank Ntilikina could be an impactful contributor in the EuroLeague, and that could be the easiest way for him to earn a role in the NBA. Look no further than recent Mavericks signee Dante Exum for the path to take.

Frank Ntilikina will play basketball somewhere next season if he wants to. The 6’4 guard is likely holding out for another NBA opportunity before exploring his options overseas. Expect him to sign before the start of the season, and his development is worth watching wherever he lands.
