Family business is making its way through the Dallas media right now.

Recently, Tim Hardaway Jr.'s father made headlines recently by blasting head coach Jason Kidd's lack of "dignity."

This happened in response to Hardaway Jr.'s inability to perform late in the season.

During the season, Hardaway Jr. stopped getting consistent playing time. Josh Green, Dante Exum, and Jaden Hardy started to cut into those minutes, and Hardaway Jr.'s role was in question.

Dallas caught a break by trading their sharpshooter.

Dallas is in better hands now with Hardaway Jr. gone

The trade to acquire Quentin Grimes from Detroit will pay off for both sides and everything eventually worked out.

Before the trade deadline, when the Mavs had Seth Curry and Grant Williams, they needed Hardaway Jr. to shoot the ball well. If not, it would reflect on the team.

The Mavs had relied on Hardaway Jr. to be that third scorer for the Mavs, but once a shooting slump started to take place, he never really regained his confidence.

Although he did have his name cemented in NBA Finals history in a Game 4 blowout against Boston, it was in garbage time when it didn't matter as much.

This doesn't reflect poorly on his career with Dallas, in fact, him being one of the most tenured guys on the team showed us why he was reliable for so long. His phenomenal shooting was needed for a long time. However, off the court is why the Mavs are dodging a bullet.

Dallas made the correct decision to get rid of him. His father continues to talk poorly about the organization could be part of the reason why he's not in a Maverick uniform anymore.

This isn't like the Boys and Girls Club where the parents give pointers to the coach. This is the NBA. This is the most competitive, popular basketball league on the planet. Hardaway Sr.'s comments even immediately after the season weren't going to fly with the management team.

A parent of the team talking poorly about your franchise player like Luka Doncic isn't the best way to deal with issues. Jason Kidd gave Hardaway Jr. a chance even during Game 3 of the NBA Finals by giving him more minutes than usual, but he just didn't shine like he once did.

This failure is all about Hardaway Jr. and no one else.

Klay Thompson and Grimes will be guys to look forward to in a Mavs uniform. Driving, shooting, and defense will be Grimes' game. Grimes as a younger player is already attractive to think about for Mavs fans.

The team made the right move and problems involving the Hardaway family should be an afterthought at this point.
