3. Small forward: Dorian Finney-Smith

The first player that the Dallas Mavericks have to acquire via trade on this list is Brooklyn Nets wing Dorian Finney-Smith. He is someone who Dallas has already shown interest in trading for this season, and he would also like to play for the Mavs again one day.

This is a trade that both the Mavericks and Finney-Smith would love, and he would bring Dallas much-needed defense and hustle, and his ability to knock down 3-pointers off the catch would be utilized in Dallas.

This season for the Nets, Finney-Smith is averaging 10.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 43 percent from downtown. He is having the best 3-point shooting season of his career, and he would receive plenty of open looks if he returns to Dallas.

Finney-Smith would immediately return to being a fan favorite on the Mavs, and Luka Doncic would definitely want him back on the squad.

If Finney-Smith returns, he would slot in at the small forward spot and give the Mavs someone who can guard multiple positions and provide floor stretching. He would be perfect on the Mavs because he doesn't need the ball in his hands to make a big impact, and those are the type of players that thrive next to Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
