Former Mavericks forward advises Luka Doncic to take a page from Nikola Jokic's book
By Noah Weber
The Dallas Mavericks take on the Detroit Pistons on the road tonight, and they will try to extend their winning streak to two games after beating the Miami Heat on Thursday night.
Dallas' formerly struggling defense looked much better, and Luka Doncic and company took care of business. While the story of the night was Dante Exum's play in the clutch and his reemergence as a key piece for Dallas, Doncic's dominant night can't be overlooked.
Doncic dropped another 30-point triple-double and is only the second player in NBA history to drop five 30-point triple-doubles in a row. These performances have begun to get overlooked by the media and fans, as Doncic seems to do this almost every game.

But that doesn't mean Doncic shouldn't get his flowers, and many from the NBA world are doing just that. Doncic is entering his villain era, and many across the NBA world are criticizing his playstyle.
Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley did this during TNT's broadcast of the Mavs-Heat game on Thursday night, and former Mav Chandler Parsons did this the following day. Parsons said that "as a teammate, it's a little exhausting watching the same (expletive) over and over again," in regards to Doncic.
Parsons also advised for Doncic to take a page from Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic's book.
"Take the most shots, play the most minutes, have the most assists and triple-doubles, do what [Nikola] Jokic does," Parsons said. "But find a way to do it to keep everybody happy and to win games."
Parsons' takes about Doncic are baseless, considering he has never been his teammate, and all of Doncic's teammates seem to love to play with him. Him advising Doncic to be more like Jokic is also a bit strange, as they are completely different players and play for different teams.
This statement alludes to Doncic getting more of his teammates involved as Jokic does. He also could have been alluding to Doncic being more engaged without the ball in his hands like Jokic.
Doncic and Jokic are also great friends off the court, and maybe the star duo teaming up could be in their future.
For all the latest on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks this season, stay tuned.
