Pass or pursue on trade to improve Dallas Mavericks starting 5: 1. Grab Conley

This is the second recent hypothetical Mike Conley to the Mavs trade Bleacher Report has written about. In the first, Dallas was giving up a lottery-protected first-round pick to acquire the 34-year-old guard.

That price was a bit too high, but this deal looks more in line with what the Mavericks should be willing to pay.

Dallas Mavericks acquire: Mike Conley

Utah Jazz receive: Davis Bertans, Frank Ntilikina, Josh Green, 20225 second-round pick

Dallas desperately needs another ball-handler and playmaker. If they can add a former All-Star and dump Davis Bertans' contract for a second-round pick, the Mavericks should jump at the chance.

Should Dallas Mavericks pass or pursue a Mike Conley trade: Pursue

This is the deal to make for the Mavericks. Dallas would only have 12 players under contract after completing the trade, but they are giving up three players on the fringes of their playoff rotation and a second-round pick for a piece they desperately need. That is a no-brainer.

Will the Dallas Mavericks make a trade before training camp begins? General manager Nico Harrison and the front office are not going to stop trying to improve this roster. They have the hardest piece to find in Luka Doncic, and they are motivated to build a title contender around their superstar, so stay tuned for all the latest.
