The Dallas Mavericks are dealing with a massive COVID outbreak. They placed ten players and three coaches in the health and safety protocols over the last two weeks, and eight remain inactive, including superstar Luka Doncic. Dallas added two more players on Dec. 29 when Boban Marjanovic and Brandon Knight were sidelined.
Marjanovic was in the protocols for both games in Sacramento, including the Mavs dominant victory to close out 2021. The NBA cut the quarantine time, but it took both Josh Green and Reggie Bullock about ten days to return to action, so fans should not expect Bobi back until next week.
Boban is still having fun and providing laughs even from quarantine. Here is a look at his latest Instagram post and what to expect from Marjanovic when he returns to the court.
Dallas Mavericks big man Boban Marjanovic provides a laugh from quarantine
Bobi appears to be enjoying some video games and filters during quarantine. Bonus points for the outstanding Homer Simpson shirt too.
Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic commented on the post wishing Marjanovic a Happy New Year. It is fantastic to see Bobi still providing smiles even when he is quarantined.
When healthy, Marjanovic will return to his role as the team’s third center. His sheer size and soft touch around the basket make the 7’4 big man a difficult cover. He has already changed several games, and he will make a significant impact on a few others before the season comes to a close.
Bobi is an important presence in the locker room too. His teammates love him, and the 33-year-old is always providing laughs. Fans will see plenty more viral moments between Luka and Boban this season as well.
The Dallas Mavericks did not sign any replacement players when Isaiah Thomas entered the protocols on Dec. 30, which is a sign that their regulars should be returning from the health and safety protocols in short order.
