2022 NBA Draft mock #17: Golden State Warriors: TyTy Washington

Washington is an impressive scorer with the ability to shoot from anywhere on the court. He is tremendous at creating space and finding gaps to score. His high school tape is impressive as he heads to the University of Kentucky.

It will be interesting to see how Washington performs at the NCAA level. He would not be the first Wildcat to see his numbers and draft stock depressed only to break out in the NBA. There are some similarities between Washington and Kentucky-alum Devin Booker. Will the 18-year-old put up massive numbers for the Wildcats? If so, expect him to be a top ten selection.

Washington defense is another area to watch. He was not a standout in high school but showcased plenty of potential. Can the 6’3 guard improve at Kentucky? Becoming a two-way threat would do wonders for his draft stock.

The Golden State Warriors are planning to be back in title contention this season and could trade this pick before the draft comes around. If they keep it, expect the Dubs to be looking for another young talent to pair with Stephen Curry. Having an additional scorer and shot creator could help lighten the load for the superstar as he ages.
