The Dallas Mavericks began the preseason last Monday night as they battled the Memphis Grizzlies at home.

Fans were fired up to see the Mavs take the floor on Monday and Thursday night after a packed Fan Jam on Sunday afternoon, and both games were filled with action from the new faces despite losing both contests.

Dallas made three big signings and one trade this offseason, as they traded for Quentin Grimes and signed Klay Thompson, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Naji Marshall. The Mavs' shooting and defense improved significantly with these additions, but that doesn't mean they won't look to improve during the regular season.

Dallas has routinely made trades at the trade deadline to improve their roster before the final stretch of the season, and it wouldn't be shocking if they do that again this season.

Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes recently listed every team in the NBA's top three trade targets heading into the 2024-25 regular season, and all three of Hughes' listed targets for the Mavs could make big impacts within the rotation right away. The regular season is less than two weeks away, and Dallas is always trying to get better.

3. Bogdan Bogdanovic

Bogdan Bogdanovic was mentioned in trade rumors linking him to the Mavs back in 2023, and Hughes seems high on the Mavs trying to make a move for him this season. While Dallas doesn't need a primary sharpshooter anymore now that they have Klay Thompson, Bogdanovic would give them another flamethrower who could come off the bench.

Last season for the Atlanta Hawks, Bogdanovic averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 37.4 percent from downtown. He ended up being in the top five for Sixth Man of the Year voting, and his ability to light up the scoreboard off the bench is undeniable.

While Bogdanovic is primarily known for his 3-point shooting, he can also score in a variety of different ways. He has a decent mid-range pull-up jumper, and he also displays craftiness when getting into the paint and finishing at the rim or with a floater.

His offensive game is tremendously underrated, and he was sixth in the NBA in 3-pointers made last season with 240. If Dallas were to trade for Bogdanovic, they would have three of the deadliest shooters in the NBA on their squad with Luka Doncic, Thompson, and Bogdanovic.

Doncic happens to be good friends with Bogdanovic, but taking on a four-year, $68 million contract may not be the best plan considering he's in his thirties.
