The Dallas Mavericks took the 2025 NBA Draft by storm, as they selected Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 pick. Flagg's addition to the current Mavericks roster is going to change everything, as they desperately needed some excitement after trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, and Flagg will be able to bring plenty of excitement and much more.

While Mavericks fans desperately wanted Nico Harrison to trade back into the second round to draft Tyrese Proctor, Dallas stood pat and didn't trade back into the draft to select a guard like they were originally rumored to do.

Even though the Mavs didn't trade for another draft pick, that doesn't mean that they weren't going to make some moves after the draft. Every team in the league utilizes undrafted free agency to sign players who narrowly fell out of the second round, as they look to fill two-way spots and sign players to play on their Summer League squads.

Undrafted free agency is the perfect time to round out your roster, and considering the Mavs had three two-way spots to fill, it didn't take them too long to sign some rookies to contracts after the draft concluded.

Dallas Mavericks 2025 Undrafted Free Agent Signings

  • Miles Kelly, G, (Auburn)
  • Ryan Nembhard, G, (Gonzaga)
  • Obinna Anochili-Killen, F, (Marshall)
  • Matt Cross, F, (SMU)
  • Moussa Cisse, C, (Memphis)

Both Miles Kelly and Ryan Nembhard are coming in on two-way deals, and Mavericks fans are excited about both players. Last season for Gonzaga, Nembhard led the NCAA in assists per game (9.7) and could be a key piece off the Mavs' bench immediately as Kyrie Irving recovers from an ACL tear.

Kelly, on the other hand, is known for his 3-point shooting and defensive versatility. Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 190 pounds, Kelly gives Jason Kidd another guard with some size whom he can utilize when he needs some shooting. Kelly shot 37.8 percent from three as a senior at Auburn, and his 90.9 percent shooting from the free-throw line shows that his shooting should translate to the next level.

While it's relatively uncommon to strike gold in undrafted free agency, it's definitely not impossible, as the Los Angeles Lakers signed Austin Reaves as an undrafted free agent back in 2021. Mavs fans will be praying that either Kelly or Nembhard will pan out to be a strong rotation player in this league, and each of them could end up having the chance to grow alongside Flagg if they make the final roster.

These players will likely all get to play on the Mavs' Summer League team in less than two weeks, and fans will be locked in to see how they play next to Flagg. This is the most anticipated Mavericks NBA Summer League of all time, and Flagg, alongside these former undrafted rookie free agents, is going to be something fans are going to want to be tuned into.
