The Dallas Mavericks were blown out by the division rival Rockets on their home floor on Saturday night. Superstar Luka Doncic had 26 points on the second night of a back-to-back, but it was not enough. The Mavs were planning to bounce back on Monday evening.

The Nuggets had won three straight entering the Jan. 25 showdown at the American Airlines Center. Nikola Jokic is in the thick of the MVP race, and Jamal Murray is playing at an All-Star level. It promised to be a fun matchup in Dallas on Monday night.

Luka returned with 7:37 remaining the second as Denver ballooned the lead to 11. He went right back to work. The Mavs star finished the first half with 21 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, one steal, and one block, but Dallas was down 12 entering the break.
